Articulation refers to the clear and precise production of speech sounds. It is a crucial part of
communication, allowing individuals to express thoughts and emotions effectively. Difficulties
with articulation, often called speech sounds disorders, occurs when a person has trouble
pronouncing certain sounds correctly. This can effect clarity and confidence in speaking.
As a speech therapist, I work with children and adults to identify which sounds are challenging
and develop tailored exercises to improve them. Techniques include repetition, modeling
intervention is key, as addressing articulation issues promptly can prevent frustration, improve
social interactions, and support academic success in children.
Articulation therapy is not just about correcting speech it’s about empowering individuals to
communicate clearly, confidently and effectively in everyday life.
